The overall theme of the conference is Assessment for Learning which seeks to highlight the two-way interaction between language testing and language learning.

The first two plenaries and discussion sessions focus on key concepts that occur at the intersection between teaching, testing and curriculum, including frameworks of proficiency and alignment of the two. The third plenary and afternoon discussion panel consider the role that technology can play in formative assessment.

Breakout session papers aim to drill deeper into the in-practice aspects of assessment for learning as reflected in the symposium subthemes.
