JAKARTA, Indonesia, 18 December 2025 — The British Council is delighted to announce the winners of the IELTS Prize 2025 in Indonesia.
The International English Language Testing System or IELTS is a globally recognised English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. Each winner receives GBP 1,000 (around Rp 20.000.000) towards funding for either study abroad or work purpose in English-speaking countries, helping ambitious individuals pursue world-class education or career opportunities and broaden their horizons.
This year, the competition was open to IELTS test takers residing in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar who took the test with the British Council between 1 April 2024 and 25 September 2025. Applicants shared their IELTS success stories through short videos and essays, highlighting how IELTS helped them overcome challenges and prepare for global opportunities.
Following a competitive selection process, five winners have been chosen in each country. The winners in Indonesia are:

"Congratulations to this year’s IELTS Prize winners, and my sincere appreciation to everyone who shared their inspiring journeys with us. Your achievements demonstrate the power of ambition, perseverance, and global opportunity. The British Council is proud to have supported you in shaping your futures, and we hope your stories will inspire many more people across Indonesia and Southeast Asia to pursue their aspirations,” said Summer Xia, Country Director Indonesia and Director Southeast Asia, British Council.
Sistiadinita, one of IELTS Prize winners from Indonesia, emphasises her motivation. “IELTS has helped me achieve my dreams, especially my dream of studying and living abroad. Most people dream of setting foot abroad, to the countries that have only dominated the films and stories we enjoy so far. If people ask me what the first thing to do to prepare for going abroad is, I will definitely answer IELTS. I used my first IELTS test result to apply to the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. Through a scholarship from the Indonesian government, I stayed in Aberdeen for one year and three months. Before doing anything else, IELTS first. The rest will follow. The path can be easier, it can be difficult, but first things first, IELTS."
