We are pleased to announce that the Call for Papers for New Directions East Asia 2022 has now opened.

This year’s conference convenes on December 9-10, under the theme “Bridging divides: Towards a comprehensive approach to language teaching, learning and assessment". The theme considers the crucial role of standards and frameworks in breaking down the barriers between teaching, learning and assessment in the comprehensive learning system and how education systems can leverage standards to achieve a holistic approach to achieving proficiency goals.

We invite paper proposals that address the main theme of the conference, and our strands:

  • Standards and frameworks: Integrating teaching, learning and assessment
  • Integrating communication: Reimagining assessment
  • A collaborative future: Humans and technology

The Call for Papers will be open until Sunday July 31st  5pm SGT (UTC+8)

We are accepting proposals from presenters who will be able to present in-person in Bali on December 9-10. Additionally, we also welcome presenters who won't be able to make the trip to submit video presentation proposals for consideration. Accepted video presentations would be used in post-conference online events. At this stage we are only requesting proposals, not videos however.
