Academic Manager

Hi, my name is Ryan and I am the Academic Manager. I'm from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. I have a BFA from the University of Victoria as well as a TEFL and a Cambridge DELTA. I have over 18 years experience teaching English in Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia and now Indonesia. I am looking forward to travelling around Indonesia. In my spare time I like cooking, painting and watching movies.

I am from London in England. I have got a bachelor degree from the University of Sheffield. I studied my CELTA at Cambridge Regional College and DELTA, Distance Delta International House London Module 1 & 3. I love watching and playing football. My favourite team is Tottenham Hotspur. I am also a FA qualified coach. I really love Indonesian food, especially tempe! In my teaching practice, I like it when students feel that they have learnt something they can use in real life.

Although I originally studied Economics at university, I’ve been in English education for over 12 years now and hold a Masters in English Language Teaching from Leeds Beckett University. I’ve been in many roles in my teaching career, including teacher supervisor and tutor in teacher development programmes such as the Cambridge CELTA. But now, I’m very excited to go back into teaching students as that’s my real passion.

I have spent over 2 years teaching English in both Egypt and London. I have a certificate in Teaching English and studied Linguistics at a university in London.
I am passionate about developing students’ confidence when speaking English in the classroom and outside of it.
I have recently moved to Jakarta and look forward to exploring, trying out local food and learning Bahasa in my free time!

I am from Cardiff, in Wales, and have a history degree from Cardiff University. I also have a teaching English certificate and have been teaching for over two years, first in Egypt and now here in Indonesia. I am particularly interested in developing students’ communication skills and making lessons as enjoyable as possible. I have made a long list of things to see while I am here, so I am excited to start exploring Jakarta and travelling around the rest of Indonesia. It’s a beautiful country!
